How to Make a Playbook from Scratch

We work pretty hard to make it so that Playbook creation is a cinch. You can build from one of our templates. You can build from AI. And you can build from an Accountability Chart.

But sometimes that’s not what’s needed. Sometimes you need to create manually.

Let’s walk through it.

Step One: Add a Blank Playbook

From the ALL PLAYBOOKS area click NEW then select the option for BLANK playbook.

Step Two: Add Processes

Scroll down the page to add your Processes to the Playbook. Later on you can revisit this area to set up Gated Access or an Incomplete Notification. But for now, let’s just scroll to the bottom to add your Processes.

A PROCESS is a larger portion of your Playbook. Think of them like the CHAPTERS of a book or the MILESTONES in a process. You shouldn’t need to add more than 7 – 10 to make a Playbook correctly. If you have too many – consider your Playbook might be best divided into two playbooks. Or perhaps you’re getting too detailed for this part of the Playbook creation.

Step 3: Add Steps to Processes

Now we’re at the part of the Playbook creation where you are going to add STEPS. Steps house all the Procedure level information that brings your learning to life. Like Processes, you should only have between 5 – 7 Steps per Process. If you find you have only 1 – consider that the Process really isn’t a Process at all. And if you find you have more than 10, perhaps you need to collapse a few together or divide them up into TWO Processes.

There are a range of “assets” to add to steps to bring them to life. Text, images, videos, QR Codes, quizzes, checklists, and more. Please take a look at the CONTENT MANAGEMENT section to learn how.
